On the 19th of May, the first edition of “Women on the move” was launched at the MEDIA stand during the 72nd edition of Cannes Film festival and it was a very big success.
Creative Europe has collated information and good practice on gender parity from industry and policy makers in the EU, and published an overview of them into a brochure.
CEPI was a contributor to this important initiative by the European Commission. The move was very welcomed and attracted lots of press attention: about 12 articles were written in major newspapers, including Le Monde, Variety, Screen Daily, Ecran Noir, and Le Film Français.

In the year since the Cannes Film Festival kicked off its 50/50 pledge, progress has been made globally but there’s still more to be done, representatives from festivals, advocacy groups and the commission said at a press event.
