CEPI General Assembly in Ljubljana advancing its vision for European Independent producers

Ljubljana, 15th November 2024 – CEPI, the European Audiovisual Production Association, held its General Assembly on the 14th and 15th of November in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together members from across Europe to discuss key issues shaping the industry. The Assembly provided a platform for CEPI to continue the work set out in its recently adopted Vision Paper.

CEPI President Susana Gato highlighted the importance of these discussions, stating: “This General Assembly underscores CEPI’s role as a platform for shaping the future of European production. Our Vision Paper provides a vital roadmap to navigate the challenges ahead and seize new opportunities for our industry.”

This meeting has also been the opportunity to further the discussion on artificial intelligence, its impact and opportunities on independent producers,  and reiterate the need to ensure that copyright legislations and the creative process are respected and that the interest of rightsholders is represented in the forums on artificial intelligence.

CEPI thanks our Slovenian association FPS for the organization of the meeting with the support of AIPA, the collecting society of authors, performers, and film producers in Slovenia for hosting us. We also thank all our participants for the valuable and insightful exchanges.
